Cat Face - Finished

I added a touch of 6B and now this little 2.5" x 3.5" drawing of a cat is finished.
Hope you like it :)

Thanks for stopping by!
Now it's time to start working on something for my hubby.

Cat Face

Not completely done but I'm challenging myself with drawing a 2.5 x 3.5 size Cat face staring down.  Not easy to get what I want in this size but I'm pretty happy with what I've gotten so far.
I'm drawing this with a 2H, 2B, 3B and some 4B.  Also used a little bit of 4H for blending.
Hope you like it :)

Fletcher - Finished

After adjusting Fletcher's eyes to a little more Amber here is the final for Fletcher :)
This is my second ever painting with a background!
My first background was "Peek a Boo" (the Tiger).
I really like how the background (even abstract like this one ) adds so much more to the painting and I think I see a lot more backgrounds in my future.
Of course the sides that don't have pastel will be under frame.  I decided to leave a border around for easier handling once it was detached from the board I was using to paint this one.

Fletcher - WIP Day three

I worked on Fletcher some more today.  Trying to get the background figured out and also worked on his eyes, more fur and his nose and mouth.  Still have a long ways to go with this!

Fletcher - WIP

I got Fletcher transfered to my pastel paper and actually remembered to scan an image before starting to add the pastel.
Here are the two progress pictures for today.

Fletcher - WIP

Trying to get the line drawing mapped out for this one! For some reason I always try to get to much detail in the line drawing.   According to some artists, the line drawing is supposed to just be a basic outline but other artists say to put as much detail in as you can into the line drawing.  I do a little of both
Oh well, introducing Fletcher

The original photo doesn't show any ears so I've changed the composition slightly to include a little of the top ear so that it looks better.

Longhaired Tabby -- Final

Sweet Huia is now for better or worse, finished.  This is my third Pastel painting and I am thoroughly enjoying the exploration of this medium.  My next piece is going to be a horse.  Surprised?  Probably not if you know anything about me LOL!
